What is Equine Assisted Learning?
Equine-Assisted Learning is a learner based educational experience with horses. EAL is an effective approach to personal development that encourages individual and team growth.
Participants engage in objectively driven exercises and find themselves learning valuable life skills in a fun and exciting atmosphere while working with horses.
Why Horses?
Horses are large prey animals that react to stimulus provided by participants naturally. Their feedback is honest and instant. Some of the joys associated with horses is that they CANNOT JUDGE but they constantly assess.
Learning to listen to what horses have to say is powerful and can sometimes spur the answer to individual change.
How Do Horses Help?
Horses can magnify an individual’s problem immediately and provide a skilled facilitator with an opportunity to identify an individual’s character. Horses don’t over-analyse a participant’s motive but they do challenge their behavior and leadership.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer horse therapy?
We DO NOT offer “horse therapy” as we are not mental health professionals. We do not ask about a clients history/past. Therapy generally takes place 1:1.
We offer group programs with structure and objectively driven outlines. We take clients where they are at right now in the present time and help them build the necessary skills to move forward in life! Through experiential learning with horses, clients take the learning with them forever because it is truly unforgettable.
Do you need horse experience to participate?
No horse experience necessary!
We take everyone through a safety and orientation program whether you have been around horses or not. This is necessary for safety and so you understand how horses are communicating/providing feedback.
What do participants need to bring?
Waiver and Photo Release Forms
Anyone participating is required to fill and sign a liability release waiver prior to the start of the first session. Parents/guardians are responsible for signing for those under the age of 18. No waiver= No participation
Closed-Toe Shoes
Our horses weigh up to 1200lbs and we do not allow anyone in the arena without closed toe shoes.
Outdoor Clothing
Dress for the weather and wear clothing you don’t mind getting a little dusty/dirty. We spend time grooming horses at the beginning of each program.
Helmets
Anyone under the age of 18 is required to wear a helmet for safety and insurance purposes. Bring your own from home if you’d like.
What if I am allergic to horses?
We recommend you take an anti-histamine tablet prior to attending sessions with horses if you are allergic to them. The most important part is not to touch your face/eyes with unwashed hands. We do have a hand-washing station available.
